
Call of Duty: Vanguard was the premium CoD release of 2021 where the series returned to World War 2. I started out on this project as an Associate Systems Designer and was promoted to Systems Designer after launch.
My Responsibilities included:
- Design, plan, and prototype innovative mechanics while still adhering to the fundamentals of CoD, including field upgrades, equipment, destruction mechanics, modes, and more
- Develop identities for weapons, implement them, and balance/maintain them
- Participate in Live Season development, implementing new blueprints, and using data to influence design changes
- Work closely with tech art and animation to produce the best weapon visual experience possible
- Collaborate with other designers to ship a large number of diverse, fun weapons
- Onboard new designers to the complex weapon systems in Call of Duty
- Plenty of bug fixing
